What are the best hoe enchantments in Minecraft?
Efficiency V, Unbreaking III, Mending, plus Fortune III or Silk Touch. That is the whole pool - hoes have no combat enchantments.
Why enchant a hoe at all?
Hoes break hay bales, leaves, dried kelp blocks, targets and (since 1.20) nether wart blocks faster than any other tool, and a netherite hoe is a legitimate weapon sidegrade.
Does Fortune III work on crops with a hoe?
Fortune increases seed drops from mature wheat and grass, so a Fortune III hoe is a common farmer's tool. For root crops like carrots and potatoes the tool does not change the drop amount.
Can a hoe get Sharpness or Sweeping Edge?
No. In Java Edition hoes share the shovel's tool-only enchantment pool: Efficiency, Fortune, Silk Touch, Unbreaking, Mending and Curse of Vanishing.
